P4638 and P4639 Ambulatory Care Centers
Project Overview
The P4638 and P4639 projects delivered two new ambulatory care centers at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune to replace aging medical facilities that were significantly damaged by Hurricane Florence. Delivered concurrently through a design-build approach, the new facilities consolidate healthcare and rehabilitation services into modern environments designed to better serve Marines and other military personnel.
At Camp Geiger, P4638 replaced the existing Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Team (SMART) Clinic and athletic training facilities with an approximately 20,000-square-foot ambulatory care center focused on musculoskeletal care, physical therapy, sports medicine rehabilitation, and injury prevention. Bringing these complementary services together provides a more integrated environment for treatment, rehabilitation, and maintaining operational readiness.
At Camp Johnson, P4639 replaced two existing healthcare buildings and consolidated medical, dental, and sports medicine services within a single ambulatory care center.
